Now that the extreme summer heat is beginning to diminish, I have started thinking about getting back to the pile of logs I still have left to split. Some of these logs are quite large and very heavy. Heavy enough that I moved them with a hand truck when they trees were first felled. And of course they are far too big to get onto the log splitter that I have access to. I’d been eyeing a new chainsaw for about a year now, my little electric saw is nowhere near up to the task ahead. Last year I had borrowed a neighbors Poulan Pro saw and it was OK, but I wanted something a bit better.
Yesterday Kate agreed that it would be ok to get my new saw, as we had some additional work going on where a saw is going to be needed. Now I am the owner of a shiny new Stihl MS271 Farm Boss!
